WHAT IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW

It turns more slowly and transmits more torque.

The small driving gear turns the larger driven gear. The output slows down and can transmit more torque.

Try 1st and 4th gear. What happens to the output speed?

ABOUT THIS DEMO

Real principles.
A simplified machine.

The model explains the mechanics of the tractor transmission and three-point hitch. It is not a technical replica of a specific Zetor tractor or a manual for its operation.

Gear speeds are calculated from tooth counts. A following reduction stage is represented by the output disc. The clutch, inertia and hydraulic control are simplified. Values exclude friction and other losses and do not represent the driving speed or pulling force of a particular tractor.

Hydraulic force is calculated as F = p × A for an 80 mm piston and a model linkage ratio of 2.2. The float position opens an oil path so the implement can follow the ground.

The enlarged cutaway shows a single-acting cylinder: oil extends it and the load retracts it. The simplified control valve connects the pump, cylinder and tank. In hold, it closes the cylinder port while pump flow returns to the tank. Relief valves, flow regulation and inertia are not shown. The light points indicate flow direction; they are not air bubbles.

Basics of calculations: KHK – gear geometry and Bosch Rexroth - hydraulic cylinders. Holding and controlled lowering: Bosch Rexroth - load control.
